The course at Amherst Country Club is laid out along the banks of the meandering Souhegan River and offers plenty of challenges for the avid golfer, yet is forgiving enough for the novice. Founded in 1965 by Robert and Arleen Currier on the fertile river-bottom land that was once his father’s, today, the family still maintains ownership and management of the course.
The Championship course at Amherst combines thoughtful and artistic design with natural pastoral scenery sprinkled with a variety of wooded and water hazards, the challenging 6,665 yards. Amherst’s greens offer a wide variety of shapes, sizes and gentle contours. The course comfortably blends its manicured turf with a tremendous array of mature native trees and other wild vegetation.
