In 1895, The Woodstock Inn & Resort’s Golf Club opened its first golf links on a hillside cow pasture; today, it boasts some of the finest golfing in the country. The ZAGAT Survey has frequently rated the club as one of “America’s Top Golf Courses” for its excellent layout, superb service, and its facilities and value.

The Golf Club features a 6,000-yard, 18-hole, par-70 golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and is nestled in the beautiful Kedron Valley. With water at more than a dozen holes the course is a challenge for even the most seasoned golfers. Already a superb site, the course fairways and sand traps have recently been redesigned and renovated to further enhance the overall golfing experience.

Home of the famous VERMONSTER, hole #14… Since 1927, the course has long been a local’s favorite and the traveler’s “must play”. Why the enormous demand to play a round on this legendary course? A golf course that is about 1000 yards shorter than a modern course? It could be because of its unique charm that is complimented by breathtaking views of Camel’s Hump and the Green Mountains. Maybe it is because course conditions are always perfect and the pace is enjoyable. More importantly, it is probably because of the layout of the course itself, measuring 5,725 yards from the back tees, it presents a challenge to the low handicapper, who often feel they will bring Williston to its knees. The reverse usually occurs. On the flip side, high handicappers can play a round that allows them to score well. All golfers have a great experience and enjoy a legendary day!

Built in and around the former Talcott family farm in a parkland setting, Williston has a pleasant variety of flat and undulating holes. A complete redesign in the late 1960’s by Ben Murray reshaped and rerouted the course. An aggressive tree planting program at that time created fairways, that today, are lined with majestic maples, pines and willows. Many golfers say it reminds them of an upscale suburban country club!

Birch-lined fairways, stone walls, scenic mountain vistas and breathtaking flower gardens serve as the dramatic backdrop for the par 71, 18-hole course layout. Measuring 6,400 yards in length, Tater Hill is situated in a pastoral setting with rolling hills and undulating fairways. Moderate elevation changes provide plenty of challenge for low handicaps, yet the course is playable for all ability levels. Nature is a star attraction at Tater Hill with birdhouses, wetland areas, magnificent flower gardens and tree-lined fairways. The course has recently undergone significant capital improvements, with six newly designed greens that made their debut for the 2005 golf season, along with increased services and amenities for the members and guests.

Robert Trent Jones Sr. paid a visit to Sugarbush in 1961 and decided to offer his expertise in designing the Resort’s golf course. Mr. Jones is one of history’s great masters of golf course architecture and his legendary talent is apparent in every one of the 18 holes of the Sugarbush Golf Club. Designed with remarkable respect for the natural surroundings, this par-71 course is as beautiful as the game itself. You will experience a golf journey through the hilltops of the Mad River Valley, featuring inspiring views at every tee, making each hole a story unto itself.

Known as the premiere ski destination in the East, Stowe Vermont is a true four-season resort community. Unlike many “resorts” where the experience ends when you leave the parking lot- Stowe boasts more shops, restaurants, and activities than any town in Vermont. In the heart of it all you’ll find the Stowe Country Club. With its beautiful undulating fairways and manicured greens, the country club occupies what was a turn of the century dairy farm and golfers have watched as the course matured into a challenging, but rewarding test of golf. The 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains, the long temperate summer days, and the feeling that everything is going your way makes each shot a memory to cherish.

The Stowe Country Club offers players a tour through the rich history of golf in Vermont . Located on a turn-of-the-century dairy farm, its clubhouse residing in the original brick farmhouse, this 6,200-yard layout will test the skill of any player.
